We designed and produced the awards for The UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, New York, South Korea and Glasgow.
We were honored when the UN reached out to us to design the awards presented at the World Climate Conference. The main award was presented by Crown Princess Mary during the 2018 summit in Copenhagen.
For the design of the State of the Art Award, we aimed to create a globe symbolizing the planet and unity. The wings encircling the globe represent the mission of World Climates/P4G – fostering cooperation for sustainable development. We sought to craft a simple yet beautiful shape that tells the story of partnership and sustainability. The award is made using sustainable colors and birch wood.
Alongside the main award, we designed a series of smaller prizes, each representing one of the world’s 17 climate goals.

In 2018, the Courtauld Commitment, recipient of the State-of-the-Art Partnership of the Year Award, did not receive a traditional glass or gold trophy. Instead, when WRAP CEO Marcus Gover and Director Richard Swannell joined Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark on stage at the Danish Opera House, the Princess presented a birchwood globe, branded with the P4G swirl. This symbolic piece, crafted with sustainable materials and practices, represented a world united through partnership.
Architect Eva Wandel and designer Rikke Nogel are the creators behind KOLEKTO, a Copenhagen-based studio founded on the principles of sustainability and beauty. Their work values the entire creative process, focusing on a slow, individualized approach that results in less waste and more meaningful products. This philosophy fosters both environmental awareness and cultural diversity.
“On the wings encircling the globe, we wanted to tell the story of the P4G mission — partnering for green growth,” said Rikke. “Together, we aimed to create a simple, beautiful form symbolizing unity and sustainability.”
“Using sustainable dyes and locally-sourced birchwood, we believe the design tells a powerful, straightforward story,” added Wandel.
“FOR US, THE STRONGEST DESIGN IS OFTEN THE SIMPLEST DESIGN – PRODUCTS THAT TELL A CLEAR STORY THROUGH THEIR EMPHASIS ON NATURE AND BEAUTY.”
P4G has once again partnered with KOLEKTO to design a similar globe for the 2019 State-of-the-Art Partnership of the Year Award, along with plaques to be presented to sector finalists.
P4G – Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 – is a new initiative launched in 2018, with the ambition of becoming the world’s leading platform for developing large-scale public-private partnerships to achieve the SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement. By bringing together businesses, governments, and civil society organizations, P4G fosters innovative collaborations to tackle humanity’s most pressing challenges in five key areas: food and agriculture, water, energy, cities, and the circular economy.
